ABOUT THE TREATMENTS

Treatments vary depending on the patient and type of injury. Sports can lead to many different injuries, which is why our chiropractors always provide a thorough exam and consultation with their patients before any treatment is given. During this time your doctor can answer any questions you may have and address all your concerns to design a treatment plan that is unique to you.

  • HVLA
The most common technique used during treatment is the High Velocity Low Amplitude Thrust (HVLA). This is a quick motion performed by the chiropractor that applies pressure to the area of adjustment. When doctors execute the HVLA, it restores alignment to the bones and joints. This is most commonly performed around the neck area, back, and hip to help bring the body in proper alignment.

  • ART
Another common treatment used is the Active Release Technique (ART). Similar to the HVLA, ART is a direct contact treatment performed by the chiropractor. It’s a combination of various movements that massage the soft tissue, muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

After your consultation, we can set up your first appointment at your earliest convenience. During the session, the Chiropractor will verbally and physically guide you through the exercises. Communication is key during treatment and patients are encouraged to talk openly about their condition and areas of discomfort. Our goal is to perform techniques safely and with care. Once a technique like HVLA or ART is conducted, patients typically feel instant relief.

Whether you are training for your next marathon, Ironman Triathlon, game or dance performance, we can help your body be performance ready!
