Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Over 45

2020 has been many things for many people. For me it was an amazing opportunity to spend more time with my family, get creative with diversifying my business model and finding a new focus for myself. One of the biggest changes for me was starting a new journey into the world of the martial art known as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ).

I started on this path not for myself, but for my daughters. I thought it was important for them to learn some sort of martial art for self defense and for confidence. My son went through Taekwondo and that was great for him, but I was looking for something different for the girls. We shopped around to a few gyms and finally found out BJJ home @freeworldjjatx.com. When I was observing my daughter during her intro class to try out the gym, one of the other parents asked me if I was going to train. I honestly had not considered it, but I thought, "If I am asking my girls to do something new and out of their comfort zone why am I not asking the same of myself?" It's that whole "do one thing each day that scares you" thing. Growing. Challenging yourself.

Getting into this was not easy. It was physically hard, awkward and uncomfortable but I have found the more I go the more I love it. I don't think I would enjoy it as much (if at all) if I had not found these supplements to get me up and going. There are three products in particular that have made this possible. These things are gifts from God!

The Structural System Pack from Nature's Sunshine is a lifesaver for all my joints. Before taking this I felt like an 80 year old woman with all the pain in my feet, knees and hips. Within a few days of starting on this combination my pain had significantly decreased.

In this system pack are three key structural nutritive products that are then packaged into serving size packets. What you are taking is: Skeletal Strength, Joint Support and EverFlex with Hyaluronic Acid. These three in combination do a stand up job of providing minerals and nutrients to build and strengthen the structural system, provide nutrition to the joints and bones and helps build connective and joint tissue.

This magic combo plus the next little gem I am going to share with you has allowed me to be at the point where going to train 5 days a week doesn't seem like torture any more. I ran out at one point and didn't re-order. That was a mistake. You don't know what you got 'til it's gone was painfully true here. I realize I am not a spring chicken anymore and achy joints are part of the game if I don't supplement and support them. I have found diet to be hugely important as well, but that's a post for another day ;-)

The "little gem" I mentioned above is a medicine is called Shilajit and has been found in the Himalayan mountains and can help rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit. Seriously, since starting on this I have found that I have more energy, sleep more soundly and my mind has been more clear.

It has been used in Ayurvedic Medicine for centuries and according to the Charaka Samhita (The ancient Sanskrit text dealing with the practice of this medicine from India) Shilajit is an elixir for long life and happiness, prevention of aging and disease and helps intellect and memory. I no longer come home from training feeling like I've been hit by a bus and need a nap. I train at 7 AM and when I get home I have energy to clean the house, cook and blog ;-) LOL

This last product is another one for energy and recovery. I started with just these "pixie sticks" as I call them and the structural system pack then added the shilajit for the trifecta of awesomeness.

These Pre-Workout Pixie- Energy and Focus are amazing. They come with two flavors in the box. I like the Pina Colada, and hubby likes the Mango, so I keep two boxes a month on autoship.

Let me know if you have any questions. I am always happy to help.

This isn't me, but for those of you who don't know what BJJ is, here's a glimpse. #bjjgoals
