What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a technique that has been used for healing in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. Acupuncture treatments help release the blockage and improve the free flow of Qi and blood in our body helping our body to heal. Acupuncture has been used for several health concerns such as pain, digestive health, mental health, immunity, fertility, hormonal imbalance, pregnancy support, and several other health concerns can be addressed through acupuncture.

Acupuncture treatments and treatment frequency.

Your acupuncture doctor will go over your health history and your health concerns. They will ask you questions regarding your health and lifestyle. The presenting symptoms are not only taken into account but a holistic approach is taken. Based on the information obtained, your doctor will formulate a personalized treatment plan to suit your health needs. Your treatment plan will include the technique they will be using, supplemental or additional therapies, herbal formula, dietary and lifestyle recommendation, and treatment frequency.

Importance of following treatment frequency recommended by my acupuncture doctor:

  • Consistency is key when it comes to healing.

  • Giving our body enough boost to be able to heal and recover.

  • Every health concern is different and needs to be addressed appropriately.

  • Inconsistency will not provide necessary outcomes and lasting results.

  • Less and inconsistent treatments will not give you temporary relief.

Q: What if I feel better, do I still need to follow the recommended frequency?

A: Absolutely. It is great that you felt better after your acupuncture treatment. That means your body is responding to the treatments and you have started to see the results. Making the results last longer is important. It took time for your body to develop the health concerns you have been experiencing. Continuous trauma - physical, mental, emotional and chemical- were the reasons that led to those health concerns. So similarly, it will take time for your body to be able to heal and recover from all those traumas caused over a period of time.

As we keep doing regular treatments, your body will start to accumulate those positive benefits of the treatments and make your organs function better resulting in healing from within. So being patient and giving your body enough time to be able to internally heal is the most important thing. So it's a definite YES that you need to follow the recommended treatment frequency. :)
