Thai massage is fairly new to most of us in the United States. However, this healing modality has been utilized by monks in Thailand for over 2,500 years!
This modality utilizes gentle pressure along energy lines, along with passive stretching to increase flexibility as well as decrease tension in muscles and joints.
This form of massage is both deeply relaxing and energizing.
The massage is done on a padded mat on the floor. It is recommended that the person receiving the massage wear flexible clothing so their body is free to move into the various positions without added restriction. Long pants or leggings are most comfortable.
This is sometimes called Thai Yoga Massage, Yoga Therapy or Assisted Yoga.
Please inform your practitioner of any joint issues or history of joint injuries as well so that they can use caution when manipulating those areas.
Please let your therapist know if there is a history of degenerative or bulging disks. There are some movements they will avoid regarding those issues, like spinal twists.
Right now these are the practitioners who will be offering Thai Massage: Patrick MarronKatie Krieger
This massage has an upgrade charge of $20.
